Welcome to EVA!
Students deserve to see themselves in what they learn. Not just in history class, but in the books they read, the projects they create, and the conversations they have in social sciences, the arts, and every part of their education. At Exceptional Village Academy, we serve students from all backgrounds and create a space where the cultures, stories, and contributions of Black, Indigenous, and other students of color are honored, included, and celebrated.
At EVA, we don’t treat representation as a side note. It’s woven into every subject and every learning experience. Students explore the richness of their identities and the ways their heritage is tied to creativity, leadership, innovation, and community. Whether they’re working on a science project, answering a writing prompt, or sharing ideas in discussion, they see that their voice matters and their story belong.
EVA is about more than academics. It’s about belonging. We’re a small online school for grades 8 through 12 that supports students who learn differently and families looking for something more personal. Classes are built with care and purpose, focusing on real-life skills, critical thinking, and creativity. Learning isn’t about memorizing facts or sitting through long lectures. Instead, students engage in meaningful discussions where their thoughts, questions, and voices matter. They learn by making connections, exploring ideas, and working on hands-on projects that help them express who they are and what they care about. Each student grows at a pace that feels right for them, with space to be curious, challenged, and confident.
Exceptional Village Academy Mission Statement
At Exceptional Village Academy, our mission is to support an educational journey that builds character, confidence, and purpose for all students, with a special focus on honoring and uplifting BIPOC learners (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color). We create a learning space where students can explore the truth of their histories, celebrate their heritage, and see themselves reflected in what they study. Students learn to think critically, research deeply, and create boldly through project-based learning.
Through strong academics, personalized instruction, and rich opportunities across visual arts, culinary arts, photography, media, theatre arts, engineering, building, music, creative expression, as well as business and entrepreneurship, students gain the skills and confidence to step into the world ready to lead, innovate, and turn ideas into real opportunities.
